Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE)
This assessment is performed one-on-one by an occupational therapist, is generally 2 hours in length and is designed to meet the needs of the referral source. The focus of this evaluation may include assessment of the client's: motivation, general endurance, tolerance to postures and positions as they may relate to daily life and work, ability to exert force, ability to complete work simulated tasks, and ability to tolerate repetitive tasks. The data collected is objective and testing, where applicable, is standardized.
Work Simulation Testing
Objective testing of an employee's work task movements assures that the individual's capability for performing work safely is well documented. Simulated work task test results are objective, reproducible and reliable. Several areas can be addressed.
Specialized Work Assessment
Utilized when:
information is needed regarding a worker's ability to perform a job or jobs;
to determine if a job is safe in relation to a specific diagnosis;
to set up a worker/job match or,
to make specific ergonomic recommendations.
This involves:
Evaluation and recommendation for corrections or adjustments in postures and positions necessary to complete a job safely;
recommendation for set-up;
review of work heights, equipment and product weights;
review of production rates, rotations, movement of productions and other related concerns as they pertain to the worker.
Ergonomic considerations may include:
tool modification, recommendations for platforms,
chairs, overhead suspension or types of carts, along
with recommendations for gloves, splints or protective
equipment. Oftentimes, custom programs are warranted,
ranging from safety videos to assistance with development
and implementation of safety programs.

comprehensive Worksite Assessment and Cost Reduction programming.

Worksite Reconditioning
There are programs designed to assist in increasing a patient's physical
tolerance to their specific work and addressing physical tolerances
to their specific work and addressing issues relating to their employability.
Each program is customized to meet the needs of the referral source.
Each program is structured and graduated with progress.
The focus of these programs is to increase the worker's ability to
tolerate work simulated activities, increase the worker's endurance
and physical capabilities, address the needs for the adjustment in
postures or positioning or ergonomics and improving the quantity and
quality of work. Work feasibility issues are addressed and assistance
with symptom control and pain management is available.
Wellness Program
A one hour, one-on-one program provided by a registered therapist,
designed for the injured worker or the worker who is having complaints
of pain on the job. Prescription is not required and the referral
can be made by insurance and rehabilitation representatives as well
as physicians and employers.
The program includes an interview with the worker and a
review of the complaints of pain as well as a discussion
of various methods of pain management. An education program
is included in giving knowledge of proper body posturing and
positioning while on the job and at home. Recommendations
regarding pain management are provided.
